Meeting: MONDAY OCTOBER 17, 2005 7:30 p.m. Meetings
are held the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. from September through May
at the Harris Bank (unless otherwise noted in this space).
The October
meeting will be held on Monday October 17. We couldn't get the hall on
our usual day. This meeting will feature Gretchen Richards of Purine Mills. Gretchen
will discuss mule and horse feeding programs.
Directions: The
Harris Bank is located on the southeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Carefree
Highway outside of El Pedregal. At the front entrance to the bank, go through
the door to your left and down the stairs to the community room.
PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE The September meeting was well
attended and the main subject was the ride schedule for the upcoming season. Except
for December, we have at least two rides per month up until April. There are openings
for April and May if anyone wishes to volunteer. Contact Jean Pearson at 480-585-7997.
October
1st is the 50th Anniversary of Turf Paradise and ASHA is participating along with
the Bridle and Bit. The CCSC will have at least one table (10 people). The cost
is $35 per person which includes a lot of goodies including lunch, parking, etc.
Contact Jean Anderson now (480-488-2917) if you are interested There
is going to be a parade in Anthem, Saturday, November 12th at 09:00AM sponsored
by the Daisy Mountain Veterans. If you would like the club to ride in the parade
and you would participate call Susan Dryer 623-465-1374). This
season events will include cow chasing (sorting) and more moonlight rides. We
are looking for any variety of horse-people events. So, if you have an idea we'll
see you at our next meeting.

DAY AT THE RACES Saturday, October 1, 2005 ASHA is participating in
the 50th anniversary of Turf Paradise racetrack on October 1, 2005. If you would
like a day at the races with the CCSC group get in touch with Bob Doerzbacher
(480-575-1012). The cost is $40.00 per person which includes lunch, beverages,
admission package, tax, gratuities, setup fees and special upgrades. (Wagering,
while frowned upon, will be tolerated).

decal of the club logo is available for the modest price of $10. The border circle
and horseshoe are red, the lettering and horse head are black. It’s a must for
