Meeting: TUESDAY November 21, 2006 7:30PM PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Thank you to everyone who contributed; October was a great month for the Club. With glorious weather accommodating, we enjoyed several events and rides. Our October meeting boasted a large turnout for the informative tutorial on GPS given by Cortland Thude from Sportsman's Warehouse Linda Anderson and Greg O'Reilly briefed us on the Cave Creek Wild West Days and the Club is officially supporting the Poker Ride on Saturday morning, and we look forward to anyone who wishes to ride the new Spur Cross Trail. Of course, it would be nice to win the pot! Just for your information, the Cave Creek Saddle Club can pride itself with four horse heroes as members: Cindy Ramsey, Donna Russ, Tom O'Reilly and my favorite hero, Terry Smith! This celebratory weekend is also the starting ballots for the Horse Heroes of 2007. This is a very special weekend, combining Wild West Days and the 20th Anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Cave Creek. Come out and join us as we celebrate our Western heritage. Happy Thanksgiving,
everyone! PS from Susan ~~ Special welcome to our new members Abbie Brese, John and Kathy Desposito, Randy Gassett, Gary Huntoun, Linda Willis and Cathy and Earl Lanna. 2006 RIDE SCHEDULE UPCOMING CCSC EVENTS AND RIDES: All times are subject to change - Please RSVP.

RIDE
REPORTS The October 7th moonlight ride was beautiful & well attended. We had 17 riders on 12 horses & 5 mules. Thank you, Bob, for leading us once again. The moon was so bright that we needed sunglasses to look right at it. Or would that be "moonglasses"? Spur Cross has to be one of the nicest places for a ride in the moonlight. Afterwards, we gathered around the campfire for a hot dog roast, and then the traditional burning of the marshmallows. Thanks to Nancy & her assistants, Cindy & Lucy, for preparing such a wonderful feast. We had an even better attendance at the October 15th, Cave Creek Park ride with 27 riders on 24 horses & 3 mules. Thanks go to Donna for leading us up & down the many hills of our beautiful park. Even though we had to make a few unscheduled stops, everyone had a wonderful time. After the ride, we were treated to a yummy Dutch oven brunch. What could be better than great "grub" at the end of the trail? If you've never tried cow sorting, you've missed a heck of a good time. This October 22nd event was no exception. Sorting is becoming more & more popular. Once again, we had an excellent turn out. The object is to move cows, in numerical order, from one pen to the next. That's not as easy as it sounds. Trying to get those "little doggies" to go where you want can be quite a challenge. But it sure is fun. It was great to see Nancy D. back in the saddle, after her two knee surgeries. You go, girl. And cowboy hats off to Cindy Ramsey & Susan Dryer who proved to be the champion sorters of the day.
