PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hello,

We are approaching the end of the season. We have had a fun year thanks to the efforts of all those who volunteered their time to lead a ride, coordinate an event, and/or staff the helm. A huge thank you to those of you who took time away from their job, family or friends to sustain our passion to ride. The time has come for some of us who have led the group to pave the way for the opportunity to inject new ideas and energy into continuing the success the Cave Creek Saddle Club has enjoyed for 46 years.

The following positions are up for grabs: President, Vice President, Trail Coordinator, Event Coordinator, Membership Chair and Newsletter Editor. We will be announcing candidates/volunteers for these positions at the April meeting, Voting will take place in May, our last meeting of the riding season.

I am glad to explain the responsibilities of each position. Please feel free to call me with any questions.

 Happy Trails!

Susan

ASHA Notes from Jean Anderson

The only news I have is that ASHA & the Glendale Saddle Club have been down at Reach 11 at the Horse Lovers’ Park, helping out with the Black Stallion Literacy Program’s second touch for the first graders. Between Monday and Friday of this week, we will have had over 3600 kids!!

Also, please be sure to read the April issue of the Horse Connection which contains an article written by ASHA’s VP/Membership, Ed O’Brien’s. It’s really a great article.

Happy Trails……………………………………………….Jean

FRIDAY, APRIL 18TH SPUR CROSS MOONLIGHT RIDE 7:15 PM Rated 2.5

The April moonlight ride has been changed to FRIDAY APRIL 18th due to conflict with a moonlight walk sponsored by the Cave Creek Conservation Area.

We will leave the Conservation Area parking lot at the end of Spur Cross Road at 07:15 PM.  John Gunn, of the Spur Cross Conservation Area will be with us on the ride to answer questions and generally guide us at the area.
The ride is a 1.5 to 2.0 hour ride at level 2.5 with some long climbs and some rocky footing.  The trail is wide and will have some fantastic views of the mountains surrounding the Conservation area and the town of Cave Creek, particularly in the moonlight.

After the ride we will have a little hotdog feast at Lee Andersons' Spur Cross Stables which adjoins the parking area.

Directions:  North on Spur Cross Road out of Cave Creek 4.5 miles to the conservation parking area.  The last mile is not paved, but is very well maintained.

Contacts:  Please use the Web site for participation response at www.cavecreeksaddleclub.org.

Or you can call Bob Doerzbacher (480) 575-1012.
