PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hi Everyone,
A special thanks to Patti Fenner who enlightened
those of us who were able to attend the February meeting regarding
weed free hay and its probable requirement when going into our
National Forests.
The weather has been good for our environment;
however, it has put a "damper" on our riding. The trails are filled
with rocks and are quite washed away in some areas. Any reports to
us of trails to avoid would be a big help to those of us who make
our way out to somewhere only to find less than passable conditions.
Coming to the end of the season makes way for new beginnings next
year. Please begin to think about encouraging yourself or someone
you know to
participate as an officer of the Club. President,
Vice President and Trail Coordinator are wide open!
Susan

RIDE
REPORTS
Please send your ride reports and pictures.
Frank Ziskovsky &
Brian Baldwin gave brief ride reports at the February meeting.
Frank led the Seven Springs maintenance ride. And Brian led the
Bronco Springs ride. Both reported having very few riders. But
they also said that the rides were still very enjoyable. Hopefully
we’ll have better turn outs at future rides.

Superstition Springs Ride @ 10 AM Rated 4
Here’s
a ride in great country with beautiful scenery. With all the rain
we’ve had this year there should be water on the trail and the
flowers should be coming out. This ride will go from the trailhead
along Second Water Trail to Black Mesa Trail. Then it will go to
the Dutchman Trail, and back to the beginning. The ride is
approximately 4.5 hours including the lunch break. Make sure your
horse is well shod and in good condition.
Ride Rating:
Level 4. See the trail rating guide.
Directions:
Highway 60 to Highway 88 at Apache Junction, go north on Highway 88
past the Lost Dutchman State Park. Turn right at the sign marking
First Water Trailhead. Follow the road to the horse trailhead,
approximately 1 ½ miles. A Tonto Forest parking pass is required and
can be picked up at most Circle K stores. Sign up on the website if
you plan to go on this ride.
