Carefree, AZ 85377

Please park along Lucky Lane which runs along the side.  You should then enter through the front door.  A brief program will be given by the fire dept staff.  The main focus of the meeting will be our plans on rides, events and programs for the new year.

REGULAR MEETING LOCATION:

October through May meetings will be held the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM (no meeting in December).  All meetings will be held at Harris Bank Community Room 34525 N Scottsdale Rd.



PRESIDENTS LETTER

Welcome back to the new Ride Year 2010-2011.

Your directors and a few volunteers got together in August for a planning meeting and there are lots of plans for the new year that we’ve already implemented. 

I know that the rides are what is on the top of your list so check out the rides for October. Sue Van Meerten, your new ride coordinator, has planned the rides for the entire year.  Of course things may change but you can expect some new rides, variations on the old ones and many trails with your CCSC friends.

The first really big change that you’ll have to be alert to is that we can no longer have our meetings at the Foothills Community Foundation.  Their own programs have grown so popular that room use is not readily available.  That said – pay close attention now – the first meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 21 at the Rural/Metro Fire Dept in Carefree.  (Directions posted top left of this newsletter).  A short program will be given by Fire Dept staff.

Starting in October we will be changing to a new meeting date and location.  Those meetings will be on the FIRST THURSDAY and we will be back at the Harris Bank Community Room.  More information will be shared in our next newsletter.

The new membership forms are included in this newsletter and are also available on the website, www.cavecreeksaddleclub.org.  If you’ve never done so, please take a gander through the website as there’s lots of information there such as Ride Level explanation, Club Rules, etc.  Thanks to our web designer/webmaster Andy Lunk.  He wanted me to tell you that he needs someone to take this website over next year.   This is the only newsletter that is sent to all members through the US Postal system.  Future newsletters are emailed in pdf format unless you direct us differently.  In doing the email method, you get the information faster, we save money and your dues remain very low.

As we look ahead through the year I can tell you that the gals from Tack Etcetera have volunteered to do Tack Fitting 201 as a follow up to last spring’s very well attended program.  They are also going to do a saddle fitting at a greatly reduced rate for CCSC.   We’re looking into Team Sorting again and possible other clinics that have been suggested.  There will always be at least two rides a month so not to worry.  Sue has gone to great lengths to have diversity in terrain, distance, level and of course taking into consideration the weather.

So, saddle up and join us for a “back in the saddle” ride on Oct 16.  Then the infamous ‘hot dog’ ride in some new countryside on Oct 23rd.  This is one ride that even non-horse partners can attend.
