PRESIDENTS LETTER
Welcome back to all!
We’re saddling up for the next ride year. A group of
volunteers had a planning meeting last week and came up with lots of
good ideas for the years activities. We’ll give you an
overview in this newsletter.
Meetings will be every other month on the 3rd
TUESDAY and will be held at The Harris Bank at El Pedregal at
7:00 PM.
Mark these dates:
Sep
20, Nov 15, Jan 17, Mar 20, May 15
Newsletters will
also be coming out every other month. The same month as the
meeting – Sep, Nov, Jan, Mar, May. On the off months we will attempt
to do an EMAIL BLAST for an event update.
If
you want to get this information and do not do email, please let me
know and we’ll put you on the call list.
Additionally, we
will try to have a non-mounted event on most non-meeting months.
Like everyone, I’m
equally ready to let this weather cool off so we can hit the trails
together. Hope to see you all at the September meeting where we’ll
fill you in on the details.

The Arizona Horse Council's (AzHC)
lobbyist, Robert Shuler, along with Bas Aja from the Cattlemen's,
and Philip Bashaw from the Farm Bureau, are still hashing out the
language, along with the Arizona Department of Revenue, for the HB
1183 that was signed by the governor, months ago. This bill is about
the equine property assessment. Will keep you apprised as this goes
forward.
Also, AzHC is having a
Arizona State Centennial Celebration up at Mormon Lake, along with
the Arizona Trail Association, on Saturday, September 24th, 2011.
Look up all information on our web site @www.arizonahorsecouncil.org

AZHC is also having a Trail
Horse Challenge Fundraiser, on October 15th, 2011, during the Queen
Creek Horse Expo. Contact our AzHC Board Member, Linda Slay. Info is
on our web site:

Limited to 60 people.
And....I am proud to announce
that the 2013 National Trails Symposium will be held here in Arizona
at the Fort McDowell Radisson Resort. We will be needing all sorts
of volunteer help. The actual date has NOT yet been determined, but
the month will be in April of 2013. What a wonderful opportunity for
ARIZONA to shine. We have such great recreational opportunities,
here in Arizona, and hope to draw between 600 and 1000 people to
this symposium.
Happy Trails. Jean
